The Millhaven Interchange Project aims to address the critical infrastructure needs of Northeast Louisiana’s rapidly growing region. Meta’s recent announcement of a $10 billion data center, expected to be the largest in the U.S. at four million square feet, will create thousands of jobs, providing significant economic development opportunities for the region. With more people moving to Louisiana, it’s essential to improve highway systems for residents’ safety and mobility.
The Millhaven Interchange project will be located on Interstate 20 approximately 2.1 miles east of the existing interchange at Russell Sage Road. The project will feature an above-grade rail crossing, offering direct access to Interstate 20 for Industrial Park users. Additionally, the project will significantly reduce risks for students, parents, and educators by redirecting commercial trucks off Highway 594, which runs in front of Ouachita Parish High School.
Approved by the Ouachita Council of Governments and the Metropolitan Planning Organization, the project has strong support as the City of Monroe is also in discussions with LDOTD to ensure that the project is included on the State Transportation Improvement Plan. The Millhaven Interchange Project will connect vital parts of Monroe, expanding economic opportunities and implementing critical safety improvements for residents.
